Lost Detail, as I mentioned myself the Snow Diamond outright covers your body, subtle shifts in hue for the fur or hair coloring is entirely lost.If you have dark skin it'll make you an albino and you cannot see how it will change without locking in those changes or asking someone rich enough to preview you the look for you. This is a huge problem when it comes to Winter's Heart as the shade of blue it changes to is determined by base color, if you have dark hair/fur it'll turn you into a smurf. Lack of Representation, it is infuriating to have an aura that changes and adapts based on fur/skin color but doesn't show in ANY editor or screen other than in game. One Look, being made of ice/diamond can have some variety in options, being covered in honey/bees less so, being covered in pixel bubbles more so.Fashion Points, anyone with a chunk of gold and a couple birthdays can have some really nice dyes and skins but not so much for Auras, meaning even mediocre ensembles can shine with the right Aura. Dem Pixels Tho, as an MMO the drive is always there to stand out and being a diamond cat is a pretty easy way to do that.Prestige, no matter what an Aura can represent a lot of things such as wealth, luck, or even skill for the few unlocked by challenging content.Rarity, certain Auras are only owned/used by around 1% of players, Koda's Warmth is one of those given how tedious and subtle it is.Exclusivity, Aura items are rare and expensive, according to GW2efficiency 20% of accounts have 1.There are some factors to consider, namely what an Aura represents to the majority of casual players and fashion players: On the other hand it's the first time in my entire playtime that I've had someone run up to me and tell me how sparkly I am, which is really really nice when my usual compliments are 'good color choices.' So I have decided to come to you, the fine upstanding and morally righteous people of the GW2 subreddit to ask a simple question, is it better to have an aura than not? The two together are quite nice but I feel I lost a lot of what made my Charr feel so special to me by getting the Snow Diamond. It's extremely subtle which I adore, I really really adore that aspect, on the other hand it's so sunken into my Charr's chest that I get whispy red farts coming out of my neck and a slight reddish gas leaking out my spine. Now because I'm that extra special kind of late night buyer I further spent a hefty chunk of gold getting the Koda's Warmth enrichment and I have to say I love it but hate it. I have been enjoying it but I've noticed it's really locked my character into a specific kind of design where my armor is dyed and limited to the theme of the aura. So I sold it at a soft loss and then I got the Snow Diamond infusion, which is much worse for details but the icy/glassy look it gives is really striking, plus it has a subtle misty blue effect on the chest. It was nice but the color it changed my Charr's fur was not to my tastes, it was very blue and powdery and it made details a little harder to notice for her pattern. Now I had always been a fan of the more subtle Auras, I really love frosty or smokey effects so I got myself the Winter's Heart infusion. Namely I stayed up way too late and bought a bunch of gems to convert into gold that I would later regret but that's just part of living when you have extra dosh before life kicks you in the lemons. I recently came into some disposable income and did what any self respecting Fashion Wars player would do to spice up my game and stand out from the crowd a little.
